Premier Midlands brewer, Banks's is helping Wolverhampton Wanderers fans celebrate their club's promotion into the Premier League with a specially brewed guest beer.
'Banks's Premier Gold', which will wear the Wolves badge with pride on its label, is a traditional deep golden beer that will be brewed at precisely 4.42% in synergy with the 4-4-2 team formation that saw Wolves gain automatic promotion from the Championship several weeks before the end of the season.
Joanne Wyke, brand manager at Banks's brewery said: "Our freshly brewed Premier Gold Ale has been created with the same passion that saw McCarthy's boys top the league this season. It is as golden as the shirts on their backs and the boots of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
"Banks's has been serving Wolves fans the perfect match pint since the club was founded in 1877. Now, 132 years later we are not only seeing a premier performance by the Wanderers, but also for the Wolverhampton's favourite pint with our limited edition celebratory beer - Premier Gold."
The beer was named following a company wide competition at Banks's headquarters in Wolverhampton. Employee Steve Rollinson won the competition with his nomination for Premier Gold and the extra idea of the 4-4-2 ABV.
Banks's Premier Gold will be available in Marston's and Banks's pubs across the city from Wednesday 29th April.
