A charitable partnership between Marston's PLC and Hannafin Construction Ltd has created a sensory garden for the local charity, St. Anthony's residential home. After a request for a helping hand by two volunteers from the charity, the whole project was orchestrated between Mark Stafford, Project Manager for Marston's and Anthony Jackson, a Commercial Manager for Hannafin Ltd.
St. Anthony's is a residential home that cares for thirty two wheelchair bound residents all with physical disabilities. The garden is over grown, neglected and inaccessible for both staff and residents of the home, volunteers Kath Cartwright and Jane Hoggan decided to take the matter into their own hands.
With funding and support from both Marston's and Hannafin, work started on Monday 6th July; Hannafin has conducted all of the main constructional work. On Tuesday ( 14th July) a team of 50 volunteers from Marston's property division who put the final touches to the garden renovation including planting flower beds, painting benches, water features; everything to make the garden the perfect sanctuary for all of the residents.
