Marston’s takes on 156 SA Brain pubs
We’re pleased to be able to share some positive news to round up what has been a challenging year for us and the rest of the hospitality industry.

This morning we announced that contracts have been exchanged with SA Brain & Co for Marston’s PLC to operate its portfolio of 156 pubs in Wales, safeguarding around 1,300 jobs in the process.
This deal is a mark of confidence in the sector and is consistent with our strategy as a focused pub operator with ambitious goals.
The impact of lockdowns and restrictions has significantly affected all of us in the hospitality sector, and SA Brain & Co has described the severe impact on its financial position in recent months.
We are pleased that we’ve been able to reach an agreement which allows the pubs to continue trading, and which preserves as many jobs as possible.
