Supporting tourism
We’re supporting the government’s new Tourism Sector Deal and its commitment to 10,000 new apprenticeships in the hospitality sector.
17th July 2019
PM Theresa May recently announced the new Tourism Sector Deal as part of the government’s Industrial Strategy.
With around 38 million visitors to the UK last year (adding a huge £23 billion to our economy!), the deal recognises the important role tourism plays. It will also support the creation of 10,000 apprenticeships for people building their careers in the hospitality sector.
The deal is great news for Marston’s and something we’re fully backing. Our pubs and hotels sit at the heart of their communities, offering something for locals and holiday-makers alike. And we’re working hard to offer a range of apprenticeships across our business to make hospitality a career destination for young people.
Here’s what our CEO Ralph had to say about the new deal...
Culture Secretary Jeremy Wright said: “We are dedicated to supporting life-long careers for those that work in tourism, offering insightful data to help grow businesses and ultimately creating a better visitor experience throughout the UK.”
