World-class women - WeQual award win

Huge congratulations to Sharon Singh, Head of Operations – Family Pubs, for winning a prestigious WeQual Award.
10th Oct 2019

Created by Katie Litchfield (former Executive Director of the Financial Times), WeQual identifies world-class women one level below executive committees who are on the cusp of leading UK FTSE-listed companies like Marston’s. From her own career experiences, Katie recognised the need to drive a gender rebalance in leadership teams, which the awards play a valuable role in.

The selection process was incredibly tough, so we were hugely proud to have four of our leaders shortlisted – Amelia Cree, Head of Retail Marketing, Nicola Arrow, Head of Food Category Management and Maria Franklin, Head of HR Business Partnering all joined Sharon at the final. These female leaders in positions of influence serve as great role models for our future talent – something that’s critical for the career advancement of women across the business.

After interviews with the judging panel (business leaders from the likes of Visa, National Grid, ASOS and IHG), Sharon went on to take the top spot the Operations category. The judges were hugely impressed with her drive, leadership and business results – and, of course, we agree!
